OUR FOUNDER
Lynn’s Journey to Yangshuo.
Lynn, the founder of L&X, was born in Italy and began her career as a handcrafted jewelry designer. Looking for new ideas, she travelled through the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, China, parts of Africa and the Middle East, exploring how different cultures and craft traditions could bring new perspectives to her work.
In Yangshuo, its limestone peaks, flowing rivers and unhurried rhythm resonated with what she wanted jewelry to express: calm, confidence, protection and focus. Drawn to the landscape and local culture, Lynn chose to stay and opened a small workshop. It was here, in 2002, that L&X began.

What began with Lynn’s personal vision gradually became a long-term collaboration, shaped through materials, hands-on work and perspectives from different cultures.

Six designers, shaped by different cultures.
The workshop continued to grow beyond its early team. Over time, Lynn brought together six long-term designers: one from Italy, two from the Netherlands, one from New Zealand and two from China with backgrounds in intangible cultural heritage research.
Each perspective adds something different to the way L&X considers material, symbolism and form. Together, the team develops jewelry that feels culturally informed, balanced and personal.
